Gone Fishing

Hello crafters!
This week we are thinking about all our men and make
MASCULINE projects! Cool, right?

As always you can win a $50 voucher and spend it

My project is a masculine card made for one of my friends who is
leaving the company we work together for and since he's a huge fan
of fishing, this card was made to please him, I hope he'll like it!
I totally drawned into this project an completely forgot to make pics!
Please just check how I explain the steps taken to make this card.

The only picture I have made from the process is the fish I made from zero.
I cut a very thick cardboard into a fish shape and then cut it into pieces
making a puzzles from it. I mage holes with Crop-A-Dile and joined
the pieces with a leftovers of cables and wires.
My fish has gone through a strong transformation, lol!

First I covered my fish with white gesso, added the grit paste on part of the pieces and a pumice stone paste on others. When the pastes dried I covered the parts with blue, mint and sterling pastes. I added a rusty paste where the holes and cables were just to pretend they were made of rusty metal.
Then I smeared the salient details with brass paint and pumice stone.
That was only for highlighting the texture. Added turquoise wax too.

Then I worked on my background with Distress Oxide Inks mixed with
standard Distress Inks, all in blue shades mixed with beige and browns.
To make the bottom more dramatic, I used Royal Blood Infusions.
Stamped with Inventors using Archival Black Jet.
Splashed with pumice stone paste with water, smeared rusty paste
and added pieces of Tim Holtz Mixed Media die.

I placed a piece of a fishing red on he bottom
and glued the fish with gel medium.
