Anchor

Ahoy!
This week we go totally nautical and
LIVE ON THE OCEAN WAVES

As always you can be a random winner of $50 voucher
and spend it at Simon Says Stamp Store

I really love all the nautical things and as I loved this challenge
I decided to make a huge anchor (canvas is 30x20 cm) as my home decor.
In the end of this post, there are pics of step by step process.

First I drawn an anchor shape on a thick cardboard and cut it out
with my knife and scissors. I glued all the parts together with a glue gun
and placed them all on a solid cardboard and also glued them down.
Then I used a thick cord to give more nautical touch.
Took several castings made with resin and placed them on my anchor.
Glued them with a gel medium.

When everything was placed firmly on my base, I painted it all with
white gesso covering all the details. Then I colored my anchor using sprays
with some shades of blue and then added some darker paint
and gave a touch of delicate green using the patina effect paste.
I also gave a final touch with a silver wax on the peacked points
of my resin shapes.

I really loved the background which was so easy to do.
I placed a soft painting tape every second stripe, mixed some shades
of blue paints and just painted it with a big brush.
When the paints dried I splattered all the panel with white paint.
Finally I glued down my anchor to the base.

I am ready for summer on the beach :-)
