Hello everybody and welcome to another
This week we'd love to see MONOCHROME projects!
Join us and remember you can be a random winner of $50
and spend it over Simon Says Stamp Store.
This is my black/grey/silver canvas.
It took me a while and was a lot of work but I so enjoyed to do it.
Due to the red bugs, the picture is quite creepy that's why
the sentiment matched perfectly to the whole design.
Just take a look below at the pics and steps I took to make the canvas.
You know how I love to use my leftovers especially made of a thick
cardboards, right? I really keep a lot of them knowing they will have a new life.
I gathered some of them and started to build my background.
I glued the alpha leftovers to the canvas and covered with gesso.
Then I built a frame with leftovers of Sizzix Frame 2 die.
Glued it all down to the base and covered with gesso additionally giving a texture to my frame with a brush and a thick layer of white gesso.
Painted the inside of the frama with black paint adding water.
Made a touch of black sparks paint and the silver one.
Finally highlighted the texture with my favourite old silver wax.
Before I threw away the package of the wax, I thought I could use
the plastic window for my project as a shaker box. It's very deep
so you can put some layers inside and still have a free space.
I painted the edge with black paint and added the drip drop die
painted with grit paste and black paint with a final touch of silver wax.
