Inside The Box

Hi there!
Are you ready for new Simon Says Monday Challenge?

This week we are going 3D with INSIDE THE BOX theme!

As always you can win a $50 voucher and spend it at

Here is my box showing I really miss the Spring.
I had an idea of making a kind of surprise box, dark and calm outside
with a crazy explosion of colors inside. And I guess I did it.
All the walls are deep brown and textured of course
and the inside is full of flying and colorful butterflies.
Take a look below at the steps I took to make the box.

First I made my base for the exploding box.
I cut also 10 pieces of bases for each wall, adhered Sizzix die cuts
and covered the walls with white gesso.

Then I started to play with sprays and water until I was happy with the colors.
I smeared the die cut pieces with Nuvo mousse and stamped randomly TH Grunge Scroll stamp with Black Jet Archival. I covered the walls with Distress Glaze to secure the surface and to give a vibrancy to the colors.

I adhered all the walls to my base and left it aside.
I sprayed a piece of watercolor paper with lots of vibrant sprays
and then cut out butterflies and wildflowers.
The butterflies were placed on strips of acetate and adhered to the base.
I added wildflowers to give more gardening look and fulfil the inside.

Here are some close-ups of my exploding box.
I really love the effect and I hope it inspires you to join us this week!

Wiosna!

Road Trip

we invite you to start making plans of your summer journeys.
The theme is  ROAD TRIP

As always you can win a $50 voucher and spend it

I have been planning a journey through Tuscany for several years.
I'd love to fly there, renta a car and go visiting all the pretty villages!
This is quite as I see my trip :-)

Here below you can see how I made my backgrouns and the road.

The road was made with SSS Brusg Stroke Messages stamps set.
I know these are brush stroke stamps but who cares if they are
perfect for making a roadway :-) I stamped them with Distress Oxide Inks
and embossed with SSS Clear Embossing Powder.
The sun rays were made using TCW stencil, first I blended the inks
through the stencil and then covered them
with Ranger Transparent Gloss paste.
