Thank You

Hello everyone who was waiting for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
This week there is a THANKSGIVING theme up here!

As always you can be a random winner of $50 voucher
and spend it at Simon Says Stamp Store

I hadn't have a tiniest idea of what my card would be look like.
This was one of those black hole moments when you sit and need to
make something, without ideas, plans, overall scheme.
So here it is my spontaneous Thank You card.

One day I played a lot making backgrounds with a mix of several Distress
Oxide inks. I made like 8-10 of them and already almost used them out!
For this card I took 2 of them, the yellowish as my base and the
brownish as my background.
I really recommend to make them in advance one of those days you feel
no mojo for any new project, it's a really great thing for 'future".

Then I cut out the Sizzix Globe from the center of my background
and the "frame" made with Sizzix Stripes die.

Then... I made a great mistake! I confused jars.
I wanted to use Distress Clear Rock Candy and I actually used
Distress Collage Medium matte :-( Well, shit happens.
I thought no big deal I can still use the Rock Candy over it, right?
Well, not really! No single cracle appeared on the surface!
Now I know... But I left it as it was and only added some
coloring with Prima oil Pastel crayons.

  4. What a beautiful card a very entertaining write-up! I laughed at your mistake with the crackle paste and it made me glad that I wasn't the only one who has crafting disasters! I also loved your advice to prepare a lot of backgrounds at once for the days when you're not feeling artistic. Great advice and a great project!

  10. Beautiful card Macarena! And a funny story about the crackle glaze! It must have reacted with the matte medium somehow.
